Greetings from a very wet, quite windy and certainly not blue-skied Essex.
The weather most definitely summed up my mood last night when i tried on my rosy cotton top and realised that the yarn substitution i had made had completely backfired and would have to be frogged... I could've cried. Granted I cry at quite a lot of things; books, tv, film, heck I'll even cry at an advert if it's good enough but nothing comes close to that heart-sinkingly sad moment when you realise all your hardwork and long happy hours spent on a project were all in vain.
Alas! the show must go on and I'm inclined to believe that the knitting gods sent me this little challenge as a reminder not to take on too much and to finish my other WIPs before going all gooey eyed over another beautiful pattern. And so, I returned to my fellas beanie hat (pictured below). It's knitted using a lovely grey, black and white mix Robin double knit weight yarn and is so far simply k3 p3 and was perfect for carting along to tonight's knitting group.
I love knitting group. Mainly because it means I get to see my favourite people (no my friends do not consist solely of fellow knitters but, yes, it is nice to have a kindred spirit or four to go shopping with!) but also because I love to see what other people are working on, which patterns catch their eye and if they've even picked up their needles.
In fact I love knitting group so much I've now developed an addiction to knitting podcasts which is almost like going to a new group but one where you can sit back, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the chatter. Current faves are Knitting Rose and Jane and Jen Knit Funny. So check them out and enjoy! I do.
For now I'm off to bed to listen to the rain pound the window whilst I read The Psychopath Test all snug, warm and protected from the world. I do love my bed :-)
Speak soon xxx
