WIPless Wednesday

In a sleepy suburb in crass and brassy Essex a knitter sits atop her sofa, head in hands, surrounded by wiggles of wool ripped from her work in progress.

Five times this knitter cast enthusiastically on for her first international knitalong and five times she read the pattern wrong and tore apart her hard work, steam pouring from her ears and blood boiling.

On the sixth occasion that her mistakes made themselves known the anger dissipated and she deflated, like a sad little sponge cake badly baked and fresh from the oven.

Her pride subsided and she resolved to ask for help. She hit the Ravelry forum, text her friends and found a helper who was willing to give up part of their evening to try to knit the pattern that had alluded our blogger.

Well then, thought the blogger, this person must be a very good friend indeed and she calmly retired her needles to head off instead to bake a cake and watch the Stockinette Zombies with a comforting glass of Hendricks gin and a cuddle from her tabby cat.

And so, dear reader, there are no interesting WIPs. Just a very calm, muted and, I think, pretty little WIP basket.
