So I finished Ds Beanie Hat yesterday evening after a two hour road trip and some frantic
'I've-only-got-a-few-rows-left!' knitting but Alas! he doesn't like it. It doesn't suit him or his ideal of how a beanie should rest upon his pretty little head. He has a point... It didn't look quite right. And although I'm disappointed, obviously you always want a satisfied customer, I'd be more upset if it didn't suit me!!! Mwah hahaha I have a new hat all to myself! Sucker ;) I'll post a pic at the end so you can see my happiness for yourself.
We've just arrived home from spending a lovely, relaxed afternoon in Bath at the Bathampton Mill. The weather was so beautiful and the scenery was stunning. I know we've had a lot of rainfall lately here in the UK but we really are lucky to live here. But then again I am biased and I LOVE Bath, all of the Bath stone and rolling countryside make me really happy and it's a very big bonus that I have family there who like visits!
And family was exactly why we were there today, to celebrate my maternal grandmothers 75th birthday. It was lovely, she had no idea we'd be there and looked shocked to see us sipping beer outside the restaurant. The food was great, we laughed a lot and managed to get some up to date photos in as well. The amateur photographers in our family outdid themselves today.
And just before we left my Aunt smuggled me into a little self-made corner and handed me a beautiful Harris Tweed purse which she'd bought in Harris on her holiday. How lucky am I? My other half is sooo jealous, he has Harris envy and would kill for one of their handcrafted jackets. Never mind, we will continue to scour charity shops across the nation in search of the elusive and massively discounted find. If one person can find a £250 jacket for just a £1 then surely we can too. Our hearts are pure and miracles do happen ;)
Anyway I'll stop rambling on, the amaretto is calling me and one of my very best and favouritist friends deserves a toast.
Have a wonderful Sunday xxx
