One Of Those Weeks

I'm sure you've all had them. Work has just been ridiculous this week. One of those new launch kind of a week where you really need all hands on deck as everything starts to fall apart and, my goodness, did it fall apart. I think a different system has gone down every day this week including the internet which apparently buckled under the pressure of us adding one too many computers to the office. 

It was pretty farcical. And pretty awful really. People became disillusioned, they had the fight knocked out of them and there were a few tears shed. Not by me I hasten to add. 

My reaction? I. Am. EXHAUSTED. I could barely keep my eyes open and my brain focused by the time Friday afternoon rolled around. I've been keeping it together at work but in the evenings I probably should've been scooped up and tucked into bed the moment I walked through the front door. I can't focus on anything right now. Television especially. Even the most trite of television. 

My other half goes away for the weekend tonight and I had visions of myself soaking in the bath with a good book and a glass of something well-deserved before retiring to hide under the covers with the kittens and a DVD.  But Alas! I fear this will not be possible. I will surprise myself if I can get even one stitch knitted or the card written out that I need to post or the belated birthday gift wrapped by the time I see my friend tomorrow.

Yes sir-eee it has been one of those weeks.

My weekend, however, promises to be more relaxed. I've filled it with friends and family, thrifting and making alongside my usual knitting, reading and lounging about. I intend to catch up with my favourite blogs, my favourite people and to catch up with myself.

I will post again with pics of my WIPs but for this evening, at least, I just needed to vent. Even if there's no one to read it. It's just nice to get it all out.
