Wonderful to Meet You

Time slips away and some things are accomplished while others are not. I'm sorry, friends, that this space has been so quiet but sometimes other things take over and before you know it this lovely little blog I enjoy so much has gone silent.

Did you all have a wonderful festive season? It feels a million miles away now but we had a wonderful time, full of surprise and highs and relaxation.

The old year passed peacefully into the next and my thoughts were drawn once more to what I wanted to accomplish this year. I know that a lot of people have said that resolutions should be made year round and I absolutely agree but more often than not opportunities don't present themselves at every possible moment that a heart yearns for them and so it was with me.

I am happy, excited and a little apprehensive to report that a resolution of mine has already been ticked off of the list; I have a new job. Starting soon! Bringing together a lot of what I know and love working on with a little of the unknown and all that suspense that comes with it.

I'm also happy to report that I hit my goals for Xmas gift knitting and going into 2014 have either loved every stitch I've knit (I'll attach a few FOs at the end) or gently agreed it wasn't for me and unravelled and started a fresh search for a more suitable pattern for my beautiful yarn.

It's going to be a strange month as I try not to wish my time away but wait patiently for the time to pass so that I am ever closer to starting my new adventure. I am also wishing away all of this wet and windy weather. I hope that all of you have escaped the awful flooding or that if you have been affected the damage isn't too bad.

We are lucky, the weather is horrible to watch but not hurting our home so what can you do?

It's that time of year which means I face a little of the drab, the dark and the damp knowing I'll soon be rewarded with brighter mornings, pretty daffodils and walks outside. Do you even remember outside?? That wool for yarn and my knitty obsession or I might not have pulled through 😉

Hello 2014, it's most definitely exciting to meet you.
