And nothing but the truth.
If I'm completely honest with myself, and with you all, I have to admit that my WIP Wednesday posts have been a little cloak and dagger. Lots of WIPs have been hidden behind a veil of words, broken promises to knuckle down and be monogamous and the enthusiasm of one or two completions.
It's time to come clean...
I still haven't finished mums wrap. One button - ONE! All I have left to do is sew one measly button and yet I procrastinate telling myself that despite its still being sat atop my crafty shelves and not around my mothers shoulders it is complete. This is delusional. Simply delusional. This must change. Fast.
Other off the needles incompletes include three cross stitch patterns and two handmade garments which have needed fixing for a year or more now. The good news is that I have no other stitchy projects on my mind or on my Pinterest boards to distract from this tired old list.
The bad news is that I currently have two jumpers, a cardigan, a sock and an over-sized jumper order on my knitting needles. I'll post pics of all these beauties at the end. The sad thing is that not one is even close to casting off, seaming up and putting on. Oh no. No, no, no. Just call me knitting magpie, sure to be inspired everywhere she goes ;-)
It's not actually a problem, I use my easiest pattern to take to work and knitting group and the others, due to their technical nature, are worked on when I can focus and learn and grow as a knitter.
I still feel better for being honest though and I'm proud to say that already this month I've cast off my beanie hat and made my Cath Kidston bag, whose kit had previously sat alone and neglected on my crafty shelves.
Now let's see where the rest of May takes me :-)
Happy Wednesday
