Episode 1: Welcome to the Podcast

Well my lovely friends, if you've been visiting my little blog for a while now you'll know that I've been wanting to do my very own video podcast and now it is finally here and I am thrilled!

At the moment I'm not certain how regularly I'll be recording, right now I'm thinking that I'll wait just long enough that I have some progress to show you.

In the meantime, below are the shownotes. I really hope you enjoy it. If there's anything you'd like to feedback on (be gentle with me!) please email me at jeni.nooney@gmail.com - all constructive criticism welcome!

Taking a moment

Today began after a restless nights sleep, with an early start and an unhappy head.

There was stressful driving, a rushed visit and a more stressful driving.

So now I sit, alone, in my parents spotless, silent home. And I'm taking a breath.

This week has been full. My brain is full of new information and my mind is running overtime.

Here though is calm. Here is familiar. And here there are no demands on my time.

So I'm going to be thankful for this, relax and embrace this wonderful space.

Then I'll go home and do all the chores.

It's all about the balance.

Wonderful to Meet You

Time slips away and some things are accomplished while others are not. I'm sorry, friends, that this space has been so quiet but sometimes other things take over and before you know it this lovely little blog I enjoy so much has gone silent.

Did you all have a wonderful festive season? It feels a million miles away now but we had a wonderful time, full of surprise and highs and relaxation.

The old year passed peacefully into the next and my thoughts were drawn once more to what I wanted to accomplish this year. I know that a lot of people have said that resolutions should be made year round and I absolutely agree but more often than not opportunities don't present themselves at every possible moment that a heart yearns for them and so it was with me.

I am happy, excited and a little apprehensive to report that a resolution of mine has already been ticked off of the list; I have a new job. Starting soon! Bringing together a lot of what I know and love working on with a little of the unknown and all that suspense that comes with it.

I'm also happy to report that I hit my goals for Xmas gift knitting and going into 2014 have either loved every stitch I've knit (I'll attach a few FOs at the end) or gently agreed it wasn't for me and unravelled and started a fresh search for a more suitable pattern for my beautiful yarn.

It's going to be a strange month as I try not to wish my time away but wait patiently for the time to pass so that I am ever closer to starting my new adventure. I am also wishing away all of this wet and windy weather. I hope that all of you have escaped the awful flooding or that if you have been affected the damage isn't too bad.

We are lucky, the weather is horrible to watch but not hurting our home so what can you do?

It's that time of year which means I face a little of the drab, the dark and the damp knowing I'll soon be rewarded with brighter mornings, pretty daffodils and walks outside. Do you even remember outside?? That wool for yarn and my knitty obsession or I might not have pulled through 😉

Hello 2014, it's most definitely exciting to meet you.

Get busy knitting

It's been a busy few months.

Since July I've knit twenty gifts and have seven more to go.

It's been fun, it's been mindful but it's made blogging impossible. So many of the recipients might see a post with a pic of their gift that I've held off posting altogether.

This weekend I hope to take a break from all the gift knitting an update my etsy shop, This Is Sew In The Bag, with Christmas bags. A lot later than I had wanted but still plenty of time for the postie to get them out to you all.

I'll post again when the update is live and after I deliver a couple of gifts so that I can share with you my wips.

Until then, here's a little look at the yarn in my life right now... And my stash life.

Resolutions for 2014? 14 sweaters in 2014? 14 socks in 2014? Who knows but definitely a stash down is in order 😕
